Privacy Policy

Spark Twice is built on trust. You are sharing personal information (your values, your history, your hopes) with us. We take that seriously. This policy explains exactly what we collect, why we collect it, and how it is protected.

1. Who We Are

Spark Twice is a curated matchmaking service operating across the United States at sparktwice.com. References to "we", "us", or "our" in this policy refer to Spark Twice and its operators.

2. Information We Collect

Information you provide directly

When you complete our compatibility application, we collect the information you submit, which may include:

• Personal identifiers: first name, gender, age range
• Relationship history: current status, children, prior relationship timeline
• Personal values and lifestyle preferences
• Relationship goals and compatibility preferences
• Dating and matchmaking history
• Social media handles or profile links provided for identity verification
• Photographs you upload, including images of your face
• Any notes or written responses you choose to share

Facial verification (biometric data)

To confirm that you are a real person and to prevent duplicate or fraudulent accounts, we analyse the face in the photographs you upload using Amazon Rekognition, a service provided by Amazon Web Services. This analysis produces a numeric face template (a mathematical representation of facial geometry), which we compare against the templates of other applicants and members. This is a form of biometric information.

We use your face template only to verify you and to detect duplicate or fraudulent accounts. We never sell it, share it with other members or advertisers, or use it to identify you outside Spark Twice. Your photographs are stored in encrypted, private storage and your face template is stored within Amazon Rekognition. Both are deleted when you delete your account or request deletion, within the retention period described in section 5. By uploading a photograph you consent to this facial verification; if you would prefer not to, please contact us through our Help page before applying.

Information collected automatically

When you visit our website, we may automatically collect basic technical information including your browser type, device type, and pages visited. To understand how our site is used and improve the experience, we use PostHog, a privacy-focused product-analytics tool. This includes session replay, which records how visitors move through our pages (clicks, scrolling, and navigation). These recordings are privacy-masked in your browser before they are sent: all text you read or type, every form field, and all images and photos are automatically hidden, so we can see how a page is used without ever seeing your personal content. We do not use tracking pixels or advertising cookies.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information you provide for the following purposes only:

• Membership review: To evaluate your application for the Spark Twice community.
• Matchmaking: To identify and facilitate introductions with compatible members.
• Identity verification: Social media handles and the facial analysis of your photographs are used solely to confirm you are a real person and to prevent duplicate or fraudulent accounts. They are reviewed by our team and our verification systems only, and are never shared with other members.
• Communication: To contact you regarding your application, introductions, or updates to our service.

We do not use your information for advertising, data brokerage, or any purpose beyond the matchmaking service you have applied for.

4. Confidentiality of Your Profile

Your profile is never visible to other members. We share only what is necessary to facilitate a specific introduction, and only with your prior knowledge and consent. We will not share your full name, contact details, or social media information with any other member without your explicit approval.

Introductions are made by our team, not by automated systems. A real person reviews every match before any introduction is made.

5. How We Store and Protect Your Information

Your application data is stored securely using Supabase, a SOC 2 Type II compliant cloud database platform. Data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest. Access to your information is restricted to authorised Spark Twice personnel only.

We retain your data for as long as your application is active or your membership is current. If you request deletion, your record will be permanently removed within 30 days.

6. Sharing With Third Parties

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to any third party.

We use the following service providers to operate our platform, each of whom processes data only on our behalf and under strict data processing agreements:

• Supabase - secure database storage (supabase.com)
• EasyPayDirect - payment processing (easypaydirect.com). We do not store card numbers; all card data is tokenised and held by our payment processor.
• Cloudflare - website hosting and content delivery (cloudflare.com)
• Amazon Web Services - facial verification via Amazon Rekognition and secure media storage (aws.amazon.com)
• Resend - transactional email delivery (resend.com)
• PostHog - product analytics and privacy-masked session replay (posthog.com)
• Google Analytics - website traffic measurement and, in connection with Google Ads, measuring how well our advertising performs (google.com). By default it receives only anonymous usage data such as the pages you visit and your approximate location, not your name, email, or application answers. Google may process this data as an independent controller under its own privacy policy (policies.google.com/privacy).

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information, and we do not use data brokers. Beyond Google Analytics for traffic and advertising measurement as described above, no other third parties have access to your data.

7. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Request a copy of the personal information we hold about you
• Request correction of any inaccurate information
• Request deletion of your data at any time
• Withdraw your application at any time

To exercise any of these rights, contact us. We will respond within 10 business days.

8. Children's Privacy

Spark Twice is intended for adults aged 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under the age of 18. If we become aware that information has been submitted by a minor, we will delete it immediately.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. If changes are material, we will notify active members by email. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.

10. Governing Law

This Privacy Policy is governed by the laws of the United States, without regard to conflict of law provisions.
